PEPSI IPL 2013 Match - 22: PWI vs SRH

One over, four wickets, including the second hat-trick of Pepsi IPL 2013, by leggie Amit Mishra enabled Sunrisers Hyderabad to manage an inspiring performance at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, in Pune. SRH superbly defended a meager 119 against hosts Pune Warriors India. Amit Mishra scripted a stunning victory, starring with both bat and ball to help bowl out PWI 11 runs short.

Chasing 120, PWI started aggressively. Robin Uthappa flicked two boundaries off Dale Steyn before driving Ishant Sharma down the ground. Aaron Finch then hit two boundaries off Steyn's second over. Thisara Perera then struck a dual blow by dismissing Uthappa (22) and Finch (16) off consecutive deliveries. Uthappa was caught at deep square leg, while Finch was done in by the extra bounce and found the man at point. Karan Sharma then had Tirumalasetti Suman out leg before to get SRH their third wicket.

With less than 6 runs needed per over, PWI were on their way home but then Steven Smith (17) top edged a pull shot and was caught at the fence by Ashish Reddy off Ishant Sharma. The wickets of Marsh (14) and Abhishek Nayar (0) brought SRH back into the game. Needing 14 off 12, Mishra bowled a brilliant over picking four wickets which included a hat trick to bundle out PWI. Mishra dismissed Angelo Mathews (20), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (0), Rahul Sharma (0) and Ashok Dinda (0) to help SRH gain a welcome two points.

Earlier PWI won the toss and opted to field. PWI struck first getting rid of Quinton de Kock (2) who came in for Kumar Sangakara, caught at cover off Dinda. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who swung the ball beautifully bowled Parthiv Patel (12) and Cameron White (0) off consecutive deliveries to leave SRH reeling at 15 for 3 in 3 overs. The wickets continued to fall as Kumar then had Hanuma Vihari (1) edging to Finch at first slip to claim his third wicket. Karan Sharma (7) was trapped leg before by Rahul Sharma to have half the SRH side back in the hut.

The slide continued as Marsh then had Perera (2) caught behind. Biplab Samantray provided some resistance hitting Sharma for a boundary before launching him for a six over square leg. Sharma however had his revenge having Samantray (37) caught at long-off to reduce SRH seven down. Ashish Reddy (19*) played a few shots including hitting a six off Matthews. Along with Mishra, who scored 30 off 24 balls, the two saw SRH reach 119 for 8 from their 20 overs.
